WNetVirt 2013

Second Workshop on Network Virtualization and Intelligence for the Future Internet

October 25-27 2013 - Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Scope

The Internet is now a great success that grows at an accelerated pace. Unforeseen popular applications, such as skype, youtube, orkut, wikipedia, are now revealing numerous limitations concerning security, quality of service, mobility, middlebox, etc. These demands pushed Internet providers to perform short-term changes to fix specific problems in their infrastructure. The many short-term changes may become inconsistent as the time goes by and also may not solve all emerging issues. A radical redesign of the Internet is required in the long term. Virtualization and intelligence technologies have been proposed to build intelligent virtual network infrastructure that allows the deployment and evaluation of new protocols and services in the wide area with real traffic loads and network events. This workshop will provide an international forum for experts to exchange ideas and present results of ongoing research in the Future Internet, Post-IP, Network Virtualization, Intelligence, and New Architectures.
